Halloween Ends, Closing of the Death Saga
Since its premiere in 1978,
Michael Myers has seemingly never died. Laurie and her family have done
everything possible to destroy the masked killer, but for some reason she keeps
getting back up. But Halloween Ends promises a finale that is truly the end of
the 44-year-old Michael Myers vs Laurie Strode story.
As the 13th film, it seems that
the ending is quite definitive, considering that the main character Jamie Lee
Curtis is already 63 years old. It is time for everyone to come to a conclusion
from the story of the killer. So, what is the closing story of this Halloween
saga?
THE (REAL) END
Several years after the
events of Halloween Kills (2021), Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis, Everything
Everywhere All At Once) is now trying to move on from the years of trauma she
has experienced. Moreover, he has just lost his daughter, Karen (Judy Greer) in
the previous story. Laurie even started writing a long story of her struggles
into a book,
On the other hand, Laurie's
granddaughter, Allyson (Andi Matichak, Blue Bloods) who now works as a nurse is
in love after being introduced by Laurie to a quiet young boy, Corey Cunningham
(Virgin River). Unfortunately, in the midst of this calm, Michael Myers again
terrorized the residents of Haddonfield.
How he can rise again and
finally face to face with Laurie let it be a mystery that will only be known
after the audience witnessed it on the big screen. But one thing is for sure
director David Gordon Green (The Sex Lives of College Girls) makes this film
the finale of all the finales for the Halloween franchise.
EVIL DOESN'T DIE
Allyson's character in this
third film is still the same as before, stubborn and knowing. It makes the
audience
more excited who witnessed the decisions he made. The presence of
Corey's character warms the atmosphere, both in terms of love and the
relationship between Allyson and his grandmother.
Of course the acting of
Allyson and Corey's cast isn't all that great, but acting isn't why we watch
Halloween movies, is it? Although not as crowded as Halloween Kills, Ends,
which is 1 hour 51 minutes long, manages to present some sadistic, gory and
bloody scenes - something that fans of the Halloween franchise have been
waiting for.
Instead of being stabbed
with a large knife, now death after death is presented more creatively. There's
even a bit of a Final Destination vibe in some of the scenes. Maybe there will
be one or two scenes that make the audience wince with sadness, not to mention
the final battle between Laurie and Myers. What fun? Watch it yourself on the
big screen now! Halloween Ends is already showing in major cinemas in
Indonesia.
